I had enormous pleasure in hosting our inaugural Being Ikigai offsite in Thailand last week. On starting Ikigai Digital and being a remote hiring company we have always been conscious of getting enough face time together and as such we committed to getting the entire business together physically once per year; for this first event that meant 33 people getting together from 8 different countries.

Our purpose for the week was always clear, spend 1/3 of our time connecting with each other, 1/3 of our time having fun and 1/3 of the our time doing work.

Through the course of the event we discussed what we all wanted from Ikigai Digital and collectively defined our vision, values and then specifically what 2023 objectives / OKRs are.

I am delighted to say we struck the balance just right; a great boat trip, team building, some amazing Thai dinners and some intense workshops. The environment played a huge role in everyone being able to really relax and sink in, conversation flowed as people got to know each other better. One of the most rewarding comments I received afterwards was being told that Ikigai felt like a big family and a family with a common purpose moving forward.

An amazing week and I feel hugely privileged to have the team of people I do in Ikigai Digital.
